Our Story

TIA Education was established in 2017 in response to a parent's request for tutoring and support for her son with autism, which came through a friend of mine whom I taught at the time.

Despite my full-time teaching job at a SEMH school, I decided to take on the tutoring role. Through engaging, holistic, and enjoyable tasks, I quickly formed a positive relationship with the young person. I'm proud to say that he successfully passed his Entry Level 3 examinations!

During this tutoring experience, I decided to promote my services through various channels, and the response was overwhelming. I began tutoring five days a week, working with students of all ages and across different key stages, including Reception. Throughout the year, all the pupils I tutored made significant academic progress and rediscovered their passion for learning. It's amazing that I still continue to tutor some of the Reception children from 2017. Additionally, I have successfully tutored numerous mainstream students, helping them pass their GCSE Maths exams.

In 2018, I made the decision to collaborate with schools to support and assist young people who were at risk of exclusion or had already been excluded. My calm, tolerant, and encouraging nature proved to be a valuable asset in this endeavor.

As the business continued to grow, I brought my wife, Tina, on board. She also has experience working with young people and has volunteered at local schools to help improve their reading skills. Having a supportive wife who shares my values and beliefs has made our job much easier.

Now, our goal is to bring more teachers and support staff on board, making them our partners. We highly value their expertise and will empower them every step of the way. We are more than just a commercial venture; we are a community of teachers supporting teachers and support staff supporting support staff.
